The Amenities Committee is responsible for maintaining and improving facilities in the village. The Committee meets about 6 times during the year. As the problem with litter gets no better, and supplementary to the work carried out by the District Council, we have recruited a Litter Warden (part time). During his first 3 days collected 30 bags of litter!! The weekly collection of litter is now in the range 10-15 bags. We have also made provision for skips to be placed from time to time at strategic spots around the Parish We ensure that the District Council carry out tasks for which they are paid such as dog litter bin emptying and we also provide additional public and community skips to those supplied by the District Council. We help local charities - allocating winter fuel allotments and supporting the Wokingham Volunteer Centre. We also subsidise local transport such as the Thursday Bus and Keep Mobile service and support local projects like the Paddling Pool in California Park and improvements to three Parks. Should you also wish to make contact with the Amenities Committee contact details can be found on the members page to the left. Meeting schedules can be found here. Agendas and minutes are located here.
