Finchampstead Parish Council issues a precept, which is added to the council tax bills of residents within the Parish. This is based on the Parish Council's calculations of how much money will be required each year and therefore how much each council taxpayer will need to contribute.

Funds are not unlimited and therefore the Parish Council has to prioritise and justify any spending carefully. Residents have an important role to play in highlighting key local issues and suggesting effective projects worthy of financial support from the Parish.

The Finance Committee meets about 4 times a year, primarily to review expenditure.  The Parish Council received a precept from Wokingham District Council of approximately £75,000 for the Parish Council to spend on administering parish matters such as:
  •  Improvement of amenities and footpaths in the parish
  •  provision of litter and footpath wardens
  •  grants and donations to schools, halls and churches
  •  donations to local organisations such as youth groups
  •  field maintenance at the Rides Community Centre
Should you also wish to make contact with the Finance Committee contact details can be found on the members page to the left. Meeting schedules can be found here. Agendas and minutes are located here.
