The Footpaths Committee meets about 5 times a year to consider matters relating to the parish footpaths and recreational areas. The public are welcome to attend.

Finchampstead has over 20 miles of well signed Public Footpaths and Bridleways which pass through some beautiful countryside, including open fields, woodland and riverside. To supplement the repair and maintenance work undertaken by Wokingham District Council, the Parish Council employs a part-time Footpath Warden (John Alexander) who strives to keep the Footpaths and Bridleways in a good state. Work is undertaken on a priority basis, with the most well used paths receiving the most attention.

Committee members inspect many of the paths but users of Finchampstead’s Public Rights of Way should report any problems (such as obstructions or damaged stiles) to the Parish office, so that we can arrange remedial action with the landowner or Wokingham District Council as appropriate.  A map showing the Finchampstead Public Rights of Way network is available here or from the Parish office.

Should you also wish to make contact with the Footpaths Committee contact details can be found on the members page to the left. Meeting schedules can be found here. Agendas and minutes are located here.
