[Under Construction]

Saturday, 21st July will present some Parish Councillors with a photo opportunity, as it is the first time the Refuse Vehicle will visit Avery’s Corner car park, and the press will be there!  Following several months of complaints about the skip being too small, and piles of rubbish left behind, the Parish Council has agreed that, instead of the monthly skip, a refuse lorry will attend once a month on a Saturday from 8 to 11 am beginning 21st July.  The refuse lorry is over twice as big as a large skip and, as it is manned, the hope is that commercial dumping will cease.  New schedules have been posted on notice boards.  Also, a Saturday collection will avoid congestion in the car park on school days.

The new Baptist Church Community Centre at Gorse Ride has now received full Planning Permission, which means that work will soon begin to rejuvenate the whole area and provide much needed facilities.  In the meantime, as many regular activities as possible will continue using other halls and the old Baptist Chapel.

The Finchampstead & Barkham Neighbourhood Action Group (FABNAG), which replaces the old Police Liaison Groups, will have a public meeting in September – more information in the press nearer the time.  Do go along and meet the local police.  It’s a chance to have your say about policing issues which concern you.   Apparently, speeding traffic is top of the list!

Sadly, the Parish Council had to abandon its plans for flower baskets at California Crossroads as there was no one to water them.  Since that decision was made, it has not stopped raining!  Happy holidays!
