| A new chapter for residents in Finchampstead started as
the new container library opened its doors on Wednesday November 3 2005. The container library, which will be located at the car park at the California Ratepayers Hall, Finchampstead Road, will allow residents to make use of all facilities it has on offer, and it will be open every Wednesday between 9.30am and 12.30pm and every Thursday between 2pm and 7pm until further notice. The container library was refurbished earlier this year, and now has upgraded information technology including state-of-the-art computers, a wireless internet connection and a range of books to appeal to adults and children. Anyone with an existing Wokingham district library ticket can use the container library, and non-members can join free if they live, work or study within the district. This is a trial service in response to public demand and to establish the level of use during the trial period. Please note that this does NOT replace the current service offered by the mobile library which visits the area for 1 hour on a weekly basis. The container library is much bigger with additional services.
