Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a recent incident in which a 2 year old toddler was bitten by an uncontrolled dog whilst she was out walking with her mother in the Gorse Ride area.

At 6.00pm on Sunday 20 December the toddler was accompanying her mother as they walked their own dog which was on a lead, along a bridal path near to the Finchampstead Baptist Church Centre (FBC Centre) just off Gorse Ride, Finchampstead.

An uncontrolled grey coloured dog rushed out of adjacent woodland and set about both the victim’s dog and the toddler, biting and causing injury to the toddler’s cheek and nose.

The offending dog’s owner failed to assist the victim and reportedly just whistled to get their dog to return before they walked off.

Investigating officer PC 3214 Sara Puksis from Loddon Valley Police Station says “We are interested to hear from anyone that was in the vicinity of the FBC Centre at the time, that witnessed the incident or saw or heard anything untoward, residents that may have CCTV or motorists that may have dashcam recordings that may identify the offending dog’s owner, if so please contact Thames Valley Police either via the on line reporting portal on the force website, or by phoning 101, quoting 43200433754”.
