Wokingham Borough Council has closed all of the local libraries.
Libraries play an important role for a large number of our residents and this decision was not taken lightly. We are going to use the hopefully brief time that the libraries are closed to the public to identify alternative ways of delivering the service safely. We are placing messages on our library buildings and in social media about why we have taken this decision and what services residents can still access at this time. This includes:
• Access to a wide range of online library services including books, magazines, newspapers and audiobooks (www.wokingham.gov.uk/libraries)
• The ability to renew items online – although no library user will be fined for being unable to return an item at this time
• Online events such as the virtual Storytime session on Tuesday
