If you are looking to pay your respects during Remembrance, wooden crosses and poppies are available from a pop-up shop run by the Royal British Legion in Peach Place, Wokingham.

It is located at the former Blue Orchid Bakery unit and is open until Saturday 12 November. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Wooden crosses can be placed at the war memorial inside Wokingham Town Hall. Residents can visit the memorial from 10am to 2pm from Monday 8 November to Friday 11 November.

If you would like to visit on any of these days, go to the information centre or press the intercom and a member of staff will help. Crosses can also be left in Market Place, where a stand is provided.

The Finchampstead War Memorial can be visited at the Memorial Park, The Village, Finchampstead.  The Remembrance Parade and service will take place at the Memorial Park on Sunday 13 November at 3pm.  For information about church services please visit https://pfc-church.uk/

As well as poppies and crosses, the shop has children’s books, candles, wristbands, poppy windmills, puzzles, money boxes, pin badges, key rings, car stickers and much more.

We have been able to offer the unit in Peach Place to the Royal British Legion after Blue Orchid Bakery went into liquidation in July. The Legion have been granted rent free occupation for their fundraising efforts, having successfully used a different retail unit fronting onto Peach Street this time last year.
