South East Water has provided the following update.

Our £1.4million project to install more than three kilometres of water main in Finchampstead, Wokingham, continues to make good progress.

Clancy Docwra, our contractor, has laid more than a kilometre of pipe so far. The project began in Finchampstead Road and the new pipe runs along Billing Avenue, Gorse Ride South and onto Nine Mile Ride.

Work on Nine Mile Ride itself started in September, at the junction of Gorse Ride South.

We have moved quickly and our working area is now past the junction of Manor Park Drive, meaning we are nearing the end of the first phase of the project.

Our road closure remains in place in Nine Mile Ride in order for us to protect motorists and pedestrians from our construction area.

Access to homes and businesses are being maintained at all times and we are doing everything we can to ensure residents know when the road closure will move as their access point might change.

We are sorry for any disruption this work may cause but it is necessary to ensure we can continue to supply drinking water to the area as the community grows.

Our contractor is also replacing a burst-prone pipe in Nine Mile Ride to help minimise future disruption.
