Waste and recycling

However, collections on bank holidays (Tuesday 27 December and Monday 2 January) will continue, and our crews will work on Saturday 31 December to catch up, with an earlier start from 5.30am on these days. Normal service will resume on 2 January. Details about waste collections during the festive period can be found on the council’s website.

Libraries

On Friday 23 December and 30 December, all libraries will close at 3pm, or their normal closing time, whichever is earlier. All libraries will be closed from Saturday 24 December to Tuesday 27 December inclusive, as well as New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and Monday 2 January. Normal opening hours will operate at all other times.

During the rest of the festive period all other libraries will be open normal branch hours. Ebooks, newspapers, magazines and music streaming will be available via the council’s website. Further details on opening times and other library services can be found on the council’s website.
