The Parish Council works with Wokingham Borough Council to try to keep the Parish as clean and tidy as possible.

We employ two Litter Wardens who spend around 50 hours every month collecting litter from roadsides and other areas.  An astonishing average of 50 sacks of litter are collected every month, and this can be up to 75 sacks.

Annual Finchampstead Community Litter Pick takes place each March, supported by Wokingham Borough Council.  To find out how to get involved please contact us on 0118 9088164.

Please see here for information about waste and recycling collections, local rubbish tips, and for information about how you can recycle additional items from books and batteries to paint and textiles.

Did you know that you can get rewards for recycling through the Greenredeem scheme? Points earned can be redeemed for various rewards, or donated to local schools or community projects.

Information and tips on how you can help prevent fly tipping can be found on the poster below.

In October 2012 we launched a local ‘Adopt a Street’ Scheme.  Residents can sign up to look after a road or part of a road, to help keep it clean and tidy.  We can provide sacks, a litter picker and high visibility tabard, and sacks can be put out with your normal rubbish for collection.  Residents can do as much or as little as they have time for – it all helps. Problems with signs, flytipping, faulty street lights and other issues can also be reported.  If you are interested please contact the Parish Office.
