A final roll of 20 blue general rubbish bags will be delivered to most households in the borough over the six weeks between Monday 12 February and Friday 22 March. You can look up your blue bag delivery date on Wokingham Borough Council’s (WBC) website.
These bags are to cover the period from April until mid-August, when WBC will start collecting your rubbish from a 180-litre black wheeled bin every fortnight. The wheeled bins will be delivered to households moving to the new service from late May onwards, but it shouldn’t be used straight away.
You should continue putting out your rubbish in a blue bag until mid August. Also, keep using an average of one blue bag per week, so they won’t run out before the changes take effect.
A new, informative leaflet will be delivered with the blue bags to explain the changes in detail and provide helpful tips on how to get ready and to recycle more. You can also find out more on WBC’s website:
