California Country Park has been revamped ready for visitors to enjoy in the New Year. Over the course of 2019, council officers and the countryside service have been hard at work on several improvements which include; a new driveway, upgraded car park and outdoor pergolas.

The project was delivered in phases over the last year to ensure minimum disruption for park visitors. The worked kicked-off with the expansion of the car park, creating 80 new spaces in the process. In line with the council’s climate emergency agenda, two electric car-charge points were installed, along with l cycle parking.

The next phase saw outdoor pergolas installed next to Jackson’s Café to provide an all-weather sun shade or rain cover. Pathways leading from the new car park were also created. In the autumn the team undertook road resurfacing work, ensuring better vehicle access for guests.
