In order to support social distancing to reduce the spread of the Covid19 virus, Wokingham Council has decided to close all of its play areas.

This decision was not taken lightly due to the important role our play areas have in supporting the health and wellbeing of our children and families, but it was felt that their continued use would have a negative impact on reducing the spread of the virus.

Over the coming days each of the Council’s 99 play areas will have signage installed informing residents that the play area is closed and reminding people to follow social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of the Covid19 virus and keep them and their families safe. Those play areas that are able to will also be locked.

Town and parish council’s within the borough also operate play areas and have been asked to close these as well.
